Junior Advanced
Definition
Amateur divers on this team will be between the ages of 11-18 (with some exceptions decided by the Director) and eligible to compete in the corresponding Novice age-appropriate group. This team is ideal for athletes that want to challenge themselves by learning more difficult dives through training and hard work, and wishing to progress to either Elite Team.
To qualify for the Junior Advanced Team, at a minimum, divers must have or be willing to work towards the following diving board skills in the tuck position, on the 1M and 3M diving boards:
-
101 – forward dive
-
201 – back dive
-
301 – reverse dive
-
401 – inward dive
-
102 – forward somersault (1M) as preparation for 103 - forward 1 1⁄2 somersaults on 3M
-
Note: Divers who have mastered these skills and are very near attaining the next level of skills may be invited to move onto the age-appropriate Elite team at the Director’s discretion.
